Attic Station

About

This is a hobby site. I am not a meteorologist; I like measuring things and finding out why the numbers are wrong.

The station

PartWhat it is
Temperature, humiditySHT31 in a ventilated shield, 2 m above the roof ridge
PressureBMP280 indoors, corrected to sea level
WindCup anemometer with a reed switch, 10-second pulse counts
LoggerA single-board computer, one reading every five minutes

Accuracy

Treat everything here as indicative. The roof warms the air on still sunny days, the anemometer sits lower than it should, and the pressure sensor has never been compared with a reference instrument. The notes describe the problems I know about.
